Fairly Odd Parents 2 Fairly Odd Parents

My high school day school started like most others. I woke up ridiculously early because of nerves. I took a shower, dressed in an outfit I had chosen weeks before, obsessed with my hair and how he looks in my graduation cap for half an hour and did my best to my tent for a graduation dress look a little flattering. I posed for pictures in the living room of my parents called my best friend to coordinate our arrival at the school, and made sure my camera was in my handbag.

And then I vomited.

Suffering from food poisoning to your last day of school is just a cruel joke. My father had subscribed to a celebratory dinner the night before in a restaurant that shall remain nameless, and something that I ate was at war with my belly … and it was winner.

While we were walking in the street at my school (in the rain, I might add … why do not sympathize with my parents, my state and at least offer to drop me off?), I started counting the seconds until I go unconscious in my bed. Eight thousand nine hundred ninety-nine …

Imagine a group of students from high schools in sweat wearing dresses and hats itching packed like sardines in a gymnasium for two hours. Throw in a 102-degree fever and the ever present feeling that you upchuck all over the girl sitting next to you. Keep in mind your parents are somewhere in the sea of faces smiling down proud that their class graduates, snapping photos and recording videos that will take this hellish day and serve to remind you of her troubles forever.

I waited by the 800 – some-odd names graduates who were called, managed to walk across the stage and take my degree without false tripping (our real diplomas are mailed to us at a later date), and sat through speeches without meaning, without counting all the time: one thousand eight hundred seventy-two …

After everyone had thrown their hats into the air (I kept mine just in case I need to use it as a bucket in the near future), hordes overenthusiastic parents began to listen on the gym floor. Hugging Families blocked all the exits, trapping us inside.

The next twenty minutes were feverish blur. I'm pretty sure I push the grandfather of someone out of the way to a certain extent, but I do not look back to check. Somehow I found my parents and dragged outside in the now refreshing rain in the street to our house.

Two … one … and I fell into bed, my CAP obtaining Diploma and dress in a crumpled heap on the floor.
